Signs and symptoms of the West Nile virus infection.
Some people experience no symptoms, while others experience
fatal encephalitis which is a rapid inflammatory infection of
the brain. Many people begin with flu like symptoms. These
may include abrupt headache, chills, fever, muscle aches, and
light sensitivity. In most cases people recover fully, except
for those more susceptible to severe forms of the infection such
as the elderly, very young, and those with debilitating health
conditions.
